warnings in audio
warnings in audio
I just thought about another idea. Maybe we can try giving out warnings in audio, like plugins.
Re: warnings in audio
you mean warnings for swearing-breaking server rules? in audio?
do you mean by using microphone or by playing a pre-recording audio clip that warns people?
either way, i think it's a good idea, because when new players come sometimes, they don't know the rules, and in the heat of an intense battle in trying to upgrade their undead to level 2, they might not notice the admin spamming lines of text saying
[-.40calgames.com-] SERVER # WHATERVER > DO NOT SPAM WALLS/BOXES/CRATES! DO NOT SPAM!
[-.40calgames.com-] SERVER # WHATERVER > DO NOT SPAM WALLS/BOXES/CRATES! DO NOT SPAM!
[-.40calgames.com-] SERVER # WHATERVER > DO NOT SPAM WALLS/BOXES/CRATES! DO NOT SPAM!
because they are too excited and engrossed in the round.
but for regulars like me who know the rules quite well...there's no need for htis

Re: warnings in audio
We can try, but whose sexy voice will we record to use?
Re: warnings in audio
Ummm, I can do the "snotty radio dj voice" very well....in fact, I was one, lol....and pretty good utils (compression/expander/limiter, etc.) to make it stand out....
A lot of people play with voice off though.

Re: warnings in audio
I don't think its a good idea, I think it would become annoying very quickly to players and members.
I honestly don't even think the binds are a good idea, I would say pming is your best bet.

Agreed, that would be too much of a distraction. I think using the mic for giving warnings is the best way.Evangelist wrote:I don't think its a good idea, I think it would become annoying very quickly to players and members.
Binds are good to inform and remind everyone of the rules.I honestly don't even think the binds are a good idea, I would say pming is your best bet.
