It's a reliable and cost efficient round within the category of high velocity rounds.
Better stopping power compared to the 9mm.
More available compared to the high velocity rounds of my preference .. 10 mm, 357 sig and the fn57 hot round.
I prefer to carry 45 acp myself ... because having to shoot twice is just silly
