As I told Glazed, make sure your config.cfg file in your cstrike folder is marked as read-only. that way it ensures that nothing gets modified by a server plugin. Even if it does, when you restart cs, it will go back to the same config files you have with nothing modified. The only cfg files that should be in your cstrike folders are config.cfg, server.cfg, and userconfig.cfg anything else are either from what you downloaded online (ex. scripts) or server downloaded for you to corrupt your config.cfg. Your cstrike folder can be found in this directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\(steam username)\counter-strike\cstrike. Also make sure your config.cfg file does not have exec *****.cfg at the very bottom except exec userconfig.cfg(in some cases ex. scripts will have another exec). To read exactly what I told Glazed you can check out his topic http://www.40calgames.com/forum/viewtop ... 32&t=12660" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

[edit] To be sure you rid the problem completly, check all your cfg files to see if any of them have connect ***.***.***.***** in it. If they do, erase it. That is your problem right there. It will automatically connect you to a server with the ip provided everytime you launch cs1.6

I'm apparently missing a userconfig.cfg file. :? I've checked many times.
Is that a problem I should worry about?

Even if you don't have the userconfig.cfg. It will not pose a problem to you at all. It is just a replica of your config.cfg. Think of it as a copy of your config.cfg. If you don't have it, it is okay.
